The Body Rider BRD2000 is an entry level elliptical doubles as an exercise bike. Changing the resistance involves the turn of a knob. The electronic display tracks time, calories burned, distance, and speed. The seat used for the bike adjusts both vertically and horizontally. The BRD2000 operates on a chain-driven fan wheel. The Positives
Dual trainer. This allows users to sit down and recover for a few minutes, while still working the arms and the legs.
Inexpensive. At around $150, you won’t find too many pieces of exercise equipment in this price range. This is an incredibly small investment for a machine that exercises the arms and legs.
Perfect for beginners. If you are new to exercising and don’t want to make a sizable investment, this might be good to start out with. It allows you to exercise from home so you don’t have to buy a gym membership.
Solid construction. The parts may not be the highest quality, but it’s still a solid machine especially for the price.
This is a pretty good little piece of equipment. For the money, you probably can’t beat it. I’ve been using it for a few weeks, and so far so good. Its seems pretty solid.

Designed for casual use. Let’s say you just want to get a light workout in for 20 minutes per day, 3 days per week. You don’t want to spend a fortune on equipment. This is the type of trainer that would fit what you’re looking for.
Lightweight. The BRD2000 is one of the lighter-weight ellipticals around, so it’s easy to move and takes up less space.
Easy assembly. The consensus among customers is that the assembly is pretty straightforward.
This was easy to put together and most of it was already done.

The Negatives
Not for the big or tall. Not the most sturdy or durable trainer you will find. I couldn’t find a maximum user capacity, but probably not real suitable for those over 200-220 pounds. Also, a customer noted that at 6’0, they sometimes came into contact with the handlebars. The stride length is rather short.
This machine is definitely designed for smaller men or women

Cheap parts. For $150, you know the parts aren’t going to be high quality. They are more likely to require maintenance sooner rather than later.
It’s used 1 hour a day and requires constant adjustments which require removal of side plates and linkage.
- Mary Smith
A bit noisy. This is to be expected, considering it’s operates off a chain-driven fan wheel. If you listen to music or watch TV, it should help offset it some.
Wobbly. Expect some wobbling while using it. Lighter-weight individuals most likely won’t experience as much as however.
Not for high intensity. The resistance won’t be challenging enough in the long-run if your goal is to get into excellent shape. Also, intense use on a consistent basis could cause it to wear down sooner rather than later.
Ergonomics. The monitor is almost impossible to see for some users because it tilts upward. Also, the handlebars might be positioned too wide for those with shorter arms.
Console. A number of customers reported that the console was difficult to read.
Uncomfortable seat. Several customers noted that the seat had very little padding, and felt very hard to sit on.
Summary
I believe this customer sums the BRD2000 up pretty well:
This was compact and inexpensive, just what I needed. I didn’t want to spend hundreds for an elliptical if I was only going through an exercise phase. It was easy to put together, although I would use your own tools and not the ones it comes with. I love the seat. I can sit when my legs really start to burn without having to stop completely. It’s a great starter machine.

If this sounds like you, then BRD2000 might be what you’re looking for. It comes down to how much money you can spend, or want to spend. If $150 is your ceiling, then consider the BRD2000. If it’s $200, then look for ellipticals in that price range. In general, the more money you spend, the higher quality you will get.
